Katie's big weekend

We had a big day on Sunday. Katie took her very first subway ride. Yes, she's a New York baby and yes we live right next to the subway, but for some reason we never did it before. But we went to the Sarabeth's on Central Park South and the carseat was not an option, so we took the subway. I don't know if I'd say she was unimpressed or that she had no reaction - not even to the panhandler who complemented her on her way there.

We met the family at Sarabeth's with Aunt Sarah who was in from California and cousin Liza. Katie really liked the pumpkin waffle. Now that Katie's been to Sarabeth's a few times, she 'd like to know when she gets to go to a restaurant called "Kateisabella's."

Then Katie went to the MOMA. She managed to sleep through most of the Pixar exhibit but she's too young to appreciate the humor of Nemo and the Incredibles anyway. She did seem to enjoy the other floors and even had a nice snack in front of the giant Monet water lilies. I guess those were her favorite.

After the subway home and a nice long nap, we joined the grandparents and Aunt Lesley at China Grill. Here's a picture of Katie enjoying the duck fried rice. She helped herself to the fried rice, her little hand grabbing what it could off of the plate. Very cute. And she seems to like duck more than chicken.
