Happy July 4th Weekend

On Sunday we went out for lunch, something we don't do very often. One of the great things about being in the city on July 4th weekend is that the city is empty! Everyone else goes away so we have the city to ourselves. Usually there would be quite a line for an outside Sunday brunch. We went to Fred's, which is one of Aunt Rachel's favorite places. ("Excuse me," Meadow interrupts, "it would be one of my favorite places if you ever let me go there. After all, Fred is a dog, a girl retriever at that, and the place is so dog friendly with lots of pictures of dogs." Okay, next time Mead, you couldn't go to the playground and that's where we headed next).

We went to River Run playground at 83rd and Riverside that has this great water play, with a sprinkler that runs into a winding stream through the park. Katie had her water shoes on and had a great time splashing through the stream. And as you can see, she was dressed for the holiday weekend.
