The Grandparents visit

Oh - so behind in my blogging! I was hoping to have the cute pictures from Rosh Hashanah on the blog before the grandparent visit pictures, but they are on my mom's camera and she hasn't installed her software yet. So those will follow. Anyway, we did have a nice Rosh Hashanah - Aunt Lesley joined us at my parents' house on Friday night and on Saturday Oma came. This was quite an accomplishment for Oma because of all the steps she had to climb to get inside the house, but she did well. It was the first time she's been in the house since a year ago and she could see how my mom has incorporated her things into the house.

So last Sunday the grandparents came in from Dallas. Alan had to be here for work and we convinced Ann to join him. Here's Katie and her Grandpa/Papa. Thank you Aunt Debbie for the dress. Katie looks so cute in it. If you look carefully, Katie is wearing a (gasp!) barrette. These are bigger than the one she swallowed and used only under strict supervision for dress up. It turns out they don't hold her hair as well (she has a lot of hair) so there isn't too much incentive to use them. But she does look so grown up!

We had such a nice visit. Katie hasn't changed too much since they saw her last at the end of August. But we had time on Sunday to hang out and play with Katie. We went out for a delicious dinner at one of our favorite local Italian places (have to love NYC for the great number of local Italian places). And on Monday Ann had her all to herself - we did some errands in NJ and Ann got to play "wrangle Katie" at Crate and Barrel. Katie feels more free to explore places now and this is not always a good thing. Her new word when we have her in the stroller is "walk." Or sometimes she just screams.
