Hippo Park

Katie loves Hippo Park! She often goes there with Ania and we take her there on weekends. The parks in our neighborhood are named after prominent features. Hippo Playground has hippo statues in the center of it and in the summer there is water running around the hippos. Katie mostly ignores the hippos (since there is no water running), but absolutely loves the various slides. Slides are Katie's favorite and I have to say she's become a pro. She climbs up the highest slide and slides down (sometimes on her tummy) with no fear. It's been pretty warm in NYC for the last few days and Saturday was a good day to enjoy the park.

All hippos, by the way, are now called "Hippo Park." There's a hippo in Eric Carle's "Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do you hear?" and she calls it "Hippo Park." And Katie often talks about Ania, referring to her as "Ania-Hippo Park" as in, Ania takes me to Hippo Park."

Here are some more pictures:
Katie climbing up the big slide. She calls steps "1-2," because she says that when she climbs up them.
