Adventures in Pottying

I heard from a loyal reader (our friend Jonathan), who said that "I still think you owe it to your readers to talk not only about the fun stuff but the other events in her life. " So I'll talk a little about our current adventures in pottyland. Katie is very interested in the potty. At just over 2, we're not pushing her, but if she's interested on her own, that's great. So I bought her a little potty. Katie was very excited and picked out a red one. She talked about her red potty for days. In fact, the very day we bought it, she did all "her stuff" (as we say for Meadow) on it.

Katie prefers the big potty now with the little potty insert. She yesterday she woke up from her nap and told me "I had an accident," meaning she went in her pull-up. That's progress. She got the phrase from her new favorite book (a book about a girl who gets her very own potty and learns to use it). In other potty news, Friday morning Katie woke up and asked for Daddy. She usually calls for me so this was a change. But then Peter called for me because Katie had taken off her diaper and made quite a mess in her crib. She hasn't done it since so let's hope it was a one-time error.
