Our First Seder!

Here's a picture of the first seder we've hosted. I've wanted to host a seder for years. I love the seder - I think of it as an opportunity to learn and ask new questions, etc. I even compiled my own Haggadah a few years ago. But I never produced the whole meal and lead the seder it until this year when my mother surrendered the seder duties. It was a intimate little seder that fit perfectly in our little dining room with my parents, my sister Rachel, and our friends Kelli and Darren and their daughter Erika who is 3 days younger than Katie. It was a low-key seder and very enjoyable. The food was good - my turkey came out great - and everyone brought something which made it easier. I also used my very special asparagus tongs for the first time - an engagement gift from Karen and Paul - beautiful silver tongs in the shape of asparagus.

And in an upset - Erika found the afikomen. I was completely expecting Meadow to find the hidden matzah (hidden in plain sight, that is) - and Erika found it, took a bite out of it, and crawled back to the table with it. Very impressive for a little 1-year-old.

Katie and Erika play at the table - Katie is wearing her Lily dress with the monkeys
