"Uh-Oh!" Says Katie

Katie's new favorite word is "uh oh." She walks around the house saying it. She says it when she drops things. She says it when I drop things. It's cute bordering on annoying, but such is life with a 1-year-0ld. Her vocabulary is increasing, as is her comprehension. It's so much fun to see her understand more. I tell her it's time to put her shoes on, she goes and sits down by her shoes and tries to put them on. I'll tell her to get in her stroller and she'll walk over and stand by it. I really think she understands more than we give her credit for. Of course that doesn't mean that she wants to cooperate. Peter and I were debating last night whether she understands things and doesn't want to listen or doesn't understand. I suggest it's kind of like Meadow, she knows what we're saying, but it doesn't mean she wants to follow as directed.
This picture is a typical tired Katie look - sucking thumb and holding her puppy. It wasn't until recently that Katie became attached to any one stuffed animal, but puppy is her choice. So I bought another one for insurance and she sleeps with both now.
