A special suburban day.

Katie was sick earlier in the week and she kept getting up early (yes, we didn't like this). On Friday she got up early and she had a very special day yesterday with our friends Kelli and Erika which started with a trip to Target (a special occasion for city people). By the time we were almost through, Katie had passed out in the cart. She's never done this before and it was just so funny.

Then we went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory - again a treat for urban toddlers and their moms. Katie ate well, as usual, though she wanted to stand for most of the meal since she was sitting on a bench not in a highchair.

The most special part was visiting Oma. The girls were really tired so they ran around crazy in the living room of the nursing home. But we did get them to play with some toys and read some books. Katie didn't spend as much time interacting with Oma as usually does, since her buddy was there. But Oma loved watching the girls play and enjoyed talking to Kelli. Katie usually brings a little backpack with stacking cups and books so I packed one for Erika too. The girls just looked soooo big with their little backpacks on.
