Dorothy

The hotel we stayed in knew we had a child coming so they left us a goldfish in our room for us to treat as our pet while we were staying there. In honor of our much loved Elmo, we named "her" Dorothy. The fish came named "Silver" and I told the concierge that for all 2-year-olds, the goldfish should be Dorothy since it's Elmo's fish. Borrowing a pet goldfish was one of this hotel's gimmicks - it was a very pet friendly hotel. Katie called her "Darthy" and she was a nice incentive to get Katie back to the room. When we're home, we often tell her that we have to go home to see Meadow, so in Seattle we just told her that we had to go back to check on Dorothy.
