Partners in crime

We had a playdate yesterday afternoon with Erika and Jamie. Karen, Kelli, and I were talking in other room (guilty as charged) and I peeked into Katie's room to see what the girls were doing. They had taken every single one of Katie's shirts out of her drawer and spread them all over the floor. I was pretty mad, but it was too funny not to take a picture of it. Today Ania asked Katie why her shirt drawer was messy, Katie explained that she and her friends made a mess. At least she recognizes it. Katie is very into talking about messes now. As most of you know, Peter and I aren't the neatest people around. One day last week, Katie was sure to tell me before she took a nap that "our house is messy and we need to clean it up." And then she told Ania (when she was straightening up) that "I'm going to make a mess again when you go home."

Katie and Erika have a great relationship. Katie's a little bossy and Erika's a little mischievous and they always come up with something. Right now they're into pretend play. Erika pretends there are all sorts of animals in the room you have to keep away from and Katie pretends to go visit all of her relatives. We had lunch at Erika's on Monday and the girls dropped some food on the floor. Katie said, "Erika doesn't have a dog to clean up." It's nice to now that she appreciates Meadow for something.
