Reading to the Sammy Spiders

I think for Katie the highlight of her grandparents' visit was Dima and Dipa coming to her school and Dima reading to her class in the library. Katie's school has an amazing pre-school library with over 5000 books. The class has library time on Mondays and parents (or grandparents) can come in and read to the class. And then each child gets a book for the week. Libraries are a neat new concept for this bookstore raised kid.

Dima, the consumate teacher, did a fantastic job of entertaining and educating the kids reading one of her favorite Katie-introduced books Joseph Had a Little Overcoat and another book her teacher picked out (The Best Place for a Penny - about tzedakah). And Katie loved showing off her friends and her classroom. There's a line in the Joseph book that says he went to the fair and all the little Texans said how they went to the State Fair.
