Ballet at school

As I've mentioned, Katie's school has really fantastic after school classes. She loves them all. I wasn't sure what she thought of the ballet class because she doesn't talk about it much, whereas in nyc, she talked about ballet all the time, sang the songs, and danced all over the apartment. Peter rightly pointed out that in nyc, ballet was all she did. Here there are so many activities that compete for attention (kids are very much generalists at this age).

On Tuesday there was an open ballet class and Ann and I went to see Katie dance. It was completely adorable, of course. Katie was really into performing, which was great because a lot of the girls saw their moms/parents and cried and wouldn't participate. She did keep running over to give me and Nana hugs though.

At one point, the girls were lining up to "do skips" across the room and Katie yelled "I want to be the leader." And her teacher Miss Belinda said "what a surprise." Katie smiled the whole time. She does love ballet.
