Reading to the library

I read to Katie's class in the library last week. I love that Katie's school encourages parent involvement in this way. It's fun and you get to see the kids interact afterwards. Katie had the honor of sitting in my lap while I read. Here she is trying to pick out a book. The school library has about 5000 books, so it's very impressive. Katie loves to check out books and most of the time the books she chooses are okay. She's on an Angelina Ballerina kick right now, which is probably not too surprising. She's loved Angelina since she started ballet in February '08. The librarian says that she encourages children to pick whatever they want because it's one place they have free choice and no adults making the decisions for them.
