Katie goes horseback riding
Peter jokes that this is the only type of horseback riding permitted in the Kaplan family. Not quite true, but funny nonetheless. The rocking horse was a birthday present from my mom. Honestly, I didn't really want one for her because I felt like it took up a lot of space for something that wouldn't be frequently used. But actually Katie uses this a few times a day - sometimes as a rocker, but often as a walker - she pushed it across the living room today. Katie "walks" everything now, including the chairs, a habit that I am trying to discourage. So the wooden rocking horse is adorable - thanks Mom!
Notice Katie's hair is up. I have sanctioned terrycloth hairbands, to be used under supervision only - no crib or carseat with them yet. She doesn't seem to be interested in eating these, but who knows. Katie's babysitter couldn't have been happier with this news and hence the adorable up-do. And Katie looks pretty pleased with herself.
