Katie's first Bris

Katie's friend Sam has a baby brother now. We went to Max's bris on Monday. It was a beautiful celebration of this life cycle event. It's a little strange how Jews celebrate this particular occasion, but I'll leave that alone. Let's just say I was dreading this event if Katie had been a boy.

Katie had a great time playing with her friends Emma and Erika and Sam Sch. (another Sam). All of the kids sat at the table like big kids (no booster seats!) and ate well. It was so cute to watch. The fruit was a real hit - Katie and Sam both took raspberries off the plates of the adults sitting next to them. Here's a pic of Sam, Erika, and Katie sitting at the table.



After the bris we went to Sam Sch's home. Sam has a golden retriever too. Max doesn't look too much like Meadow, he's bigger and darker, but Katie walked up to pet him and said "Me-oh, Me-oh." It sounds more like "Mio" now, we're not sure why.

Another highlight of the day was it was the inauguration of Katie's new coat. I'll tell you about the coat another time, but she got so many compliments just in the elevator. The coat matches this great dress from Grandma/Nana. It's my favorite color too. Katie doesn't have a favorite color yet, but if she has a choice, she usually picks purple.
