Zoo Day with Anna

Katie's friend Anna has spent most of the summer in Texas so when she appeared in NYC for 2 days we jumped at the chance to spend the day with her. We went to the Bronx Zoo which the girls loved. Here they are on the carousel. The Bronx Zoo's carousel is unique - it's a bug carousel which is pretty neat. I love this picture because you can so clearly see Anna's blue tongue - the girls had slushies - Katie's first (red - who knows what flavor).

Katie thinks everything is more fun with a friend (well everything except sharing).

Although the 3 of us were there a month before on a Sunday, it was much more crowded on this Friday in July. We waited on line for almost an hour to go on the monorail to see the animals from Asia, taking each girl to the bathroom at some point during the wait. At one point I told them they should do a frustrated dance, just as they did "emotion dances" in their ballet class.
