Downtown Day

Peter and I have been planning to get a laptop for years. We finally bought one. Instead of going "locally" or to NJ, we decided to make an adventure out of the day and go to a great computer store downtown and go out for lunch and see the Brooklyn Bridge waterfalls (a current art exhibit). For even more fun, Aunt Lesley came to join us. Katie loves playing with Aunt Lesley and she provided some badly needed distraction while Peter and I were picking out a laptop.

It was a day during the most recent heatwave which made walking downtown pretty painful. But it was great to hang out with Lesley and to explore a different neighborhood. In fact, it was so hot we even drove down there! All day weekend parking for $15 is good for NYC. I hadn't been to South Street Seaport in years and although we see a lot of tourists in our neighborhood (mostly European - and I don't know why), I forget that there's a whole city for tourists to explore. I even felt like a tourist on the pier and looking at the Brooklyn Bridge.

I'm typing this on our new computer and using the wireless from our new router - we love it!
