Mother's Day with Santa Fe flavor
Peter went to the Mavs game the evening before Mother's Day. He came home and decided to go to Central Market so he wouldn't have to spend Mother's Day going to the store. He came home with some secret ingredients that he put in the oven. Because we were having a late dinner, I thought it would be dessert (wouldn't you?). But it didn't smell like dessert. It smelled more like asparagus so I couldn't imagine what he was making (I'm not a big fan of asparagus). He said it was something for breakfast.
On Mother's Day morning, I miraculously sleep late and wake to find that Peter has made roasted green chiles. He had fresh tortillas (Central Market has the best flour tortillas they make in the store). And he invites me to make my own eggs/quesadillas. It was a very yummy surprise.
But the bigger surprise was the wonderful gift I got. My fifth Mother's Day and I got a gift - very exciting! Peter bought me a ring similar to one I have (they stack) that we had seen in Santa Fe. Hence the Santa Fe themed breakfast.
Thank you.
