Cooking with Katie

Katie takes a wonderful class at school called "Cook A Book." They read a story and cook food associated with it and then take some of the food home. She came home with "Outer Space Meteors" last week and said she wanted to make them at home. Well the recipe was easy enough, it's basically just a rice krispie cheese puff. "There aren't any raw eggs in it Mommy. That makes it safe to eat even without cooking," my wise daughter told me. So we get home and about the only thing I had to do was help her measure. Katie mixed everything herself, using her hands as her teacher did in the class ("Cheryl said she had to wash her utensils. Then she washed her hands!"). She made little balls of the dough and carefully put them out on the cookie sheet. I just put them in the oven. They were actually really good, but not as good the next day.
