Oma loves when Katie visits

We spent time with Oma on Friday. The place where Oma is has a very nice patio area off the dining room where the residents can go whenever they want. Oma likes to spend her afternoons out there in the sunshine. Often she is one of the only people out there but I think she likes it and she has a magazine or a book with her. Oma has made some tremendous gains in the past few weeks and it is so nice to be able to have conversations with her again. She explained to me that at her age (90), she can't expect to be happy, only "to adjust" and right now it's the little things she likes, visits from family, good reading material, an edible treat.

I brought Katie's plastic walker with us on Friday and Katie strolled around - just like the older people with walkers. She was quite the hit at the nursing home and everyone watched her play.
