Chatty Katie

Katie has been chatting up a storm lately. She repeats words all the time now. Peter plays a "what goes with X" game with her now. He says mommy, Katie says daddy. He says Papa, she says Nana. She's very into calling Grandma Nana now. Everytime she picks up the phone to speak to someone, she says "Hi Nana" or "Hi Nanny," unless I specify that it's daddy. Emma and Erika, 2 of Katie's friends, also go together in her mind. Emma is easy for her to say, but Erika is more like "Eriker." And Katie has mastered Oma and Ania now too.

We went to a store on Friday that had lots of accessories on sale cheap - hence this outfit. Katie seems to like to play dress up. I think she's much more "girly" than I am, but Peter points out that Katie also likes more gender stereotyped boy activities, such as balls and cars. Car is another of Katie's favorite words. Over the past few days, Katie's also gotten into talking about her bodily functions. We knew this day would come eventually, we just didn't know it was coming at 18-months! But at least she sometimes pairs it with "wash" so she's a clean kid.

Today Aunt Sarah and Uncle John were visiting from California and came over with cousin Liza. Here they are with our girls. Sarah & John have a golden retriever too, so they are happy to see Meadow.
