Heatwave

New York had some really hot days last week. On the hot Sunday, we went to Brooklyn for my uncle's unveiling and then to NJ to see our friends. Our friends have a 2 1/2 year-old and bought a sprinkler. Even Peter went in it - see above. It was so nice to hang out on a hot Sunday outside the city.

I had explained to Katie what an unveiling was (you unveil the gravestone) and then shortened it to "we're going to 'say hi' to Uncle Alan and then we'll go to Rina's house." When we returned from Rina's house and were eating dinner, Katie said to me, "Mommy, we didn't see Uncle Alan today."
