Katie, the Shabbat helper

Katie's job in her class last week was being the Shabbat helper. It's a special privelege because she got to set up Shabbat for the whole class and take home the Shabbat backpack - complete with Shabbat matching game, Sammy Spider book, and class book. Her teacher Jennifer has an iphone and sent me a picture. Had to share.

Katie was a little uncooperative when she woke up from her nap today. She wanted a new Halloween costume instead of using one of any number of dress up outfits she already has. Eventually I caved thinking that it will be another outfit for dress up and she could wear it for Purim. She wanted something new, but she didn't want to go shopping. So borrowing a line from Ania, I told her it was her choice, if she wanted a new costume, she could choose to go shopping, if she didn't, she could stay home. She decided she wanted to stay home and watch tv. And about 2 minutes later she said to me "I want to go out. See Mommy, kids can make their own choices."
