Zoo Sunday

In our efforts to find fun outdoor places, we went to the Dallas Zoo two Sundays ago. Because it was December, I figured it would be empty. And I was correct, despite the fact it was 65 degrees. This zoo trip was infinitely better than the last one, though it was equally as difficult to get Katie out of the house. Katie was happy, even excited to see things and enjoyed running around. The spider webs in zoos seem to be pretty standard and she loves them.

The Dallas Zoo has some neat features. Unlike the Bronx Zoo, the children's zoo doesn't cost extra and it has a stream and climbing area. We were happy to see that there were no goats or sheep to feed, but Katie did manage to get a pony ride. The pony ride was really more of a photo opp and both Katie and "Little Joe" complied.

There was also a monorail which gave a tour of various African and Asian animals. Katie liked this a lot. Yes, that's me in my cozy jacket.
And since this is Texas, I thought some people might get a laugh at the sign at the front of the zoo.

And yes, there are similar signs at the front of most restaurants and our Temple.
