"What happened to the dinosaurs?"

Katie is learning about Purim at school. Yesterday she told me that "Haman was a really mean man who didn't like the Jews." And we continued talking about Haman when she asked "was Haman real?" So I explained that he was, but he lived a really long time ago. "Did he live with the dinosaurs?"

This is how a conversation with Katie works - complete tangent and stream of consciousness and it's fun. We got to talking about dinosaurs. "What happened to the dinosaurs?" So I explained that they're extinct, they're not living any more and never lived at the same time as people. And I told her that we don't know why that happened, but these are some of the possibilities. Katie thinks about it and then suggests her own theory:

"I know. Maybe the fairies waved their wands and the dinosaurs disappeared."

Above is Katie and her friend Samantha. We met them for crafts at Lakeshore on a Saturday and the girls were wearing almost identical outfits. Samantha asked to come play with Katie and I was happy to have her over.
