Cooking with Daddy

When Peter came home after Katie made the outer space meteors, he and Katie cooked dinner. The division of labor for chicken in our family goes something like this: if it's cooked in the oven or broiler, I do it. If it's cooked on a direct heat source such as the stove or the grill, Peter does it. Peter made chicken picatta, sauteed spinach and rice pilaf for dinner. Pretty deluxe for a week night. And Katie helped with the whole meal. However, after all of that hard work, Katie wouldn't actually eat anything that she made. She doesn't like spinach (and never has), she doesn't like rice unless it's plain white rice, and she thought the chicken was too salty. Given that she adores pickles, we were kind of surprised that she doesn't like capers. Oh well. She gets an A for effort and we appreciate her cooking even if she doesn't eat the final product.
