Catching up with the blog...

Two weeks ago we went to our friend Eli's 2nd birthday party. It was a lot of fun. They had it in a toddler play space and Katie did her first art project (painting a maraca type thing) and they had a sing-along too. Here she is playing with the accessories (no surprise there!). What was funny is that Katie was much more serious about the food than the rest of the kids. They had a long table set up with kid-sized chairs and they had pizza. Long after all the other kids gave up on the pizza and continued playing, Katie was still there eating. And of course, she loved the cake.

After Eli's birthday, Aunt Lesley came over (see below). Here are Katie and Yeshey playing with the "cool toys." Cool Toys are bristle blocks, a new set that came out with some great new additions. I loved bristle blocks when I was little and I had to buy them for Katie. They are a great toy to learn about constructing and needs imagination. And I love that they are gender-neutral. Peter and I play with them with Katie all the time. So why are they cool toys you might wonder... Because when I saw her playing with them for the first time I said, "Katie, these toys are so cool!" And she's called them Cool Toys ever since. She even woke up the next morning and asked for Cool Toys.

So here's Katie using a cool toy as a phone with Yeshey. Lesley is a pretty name for a toddler. And it's so cute to hear her say "Yeshey."
