Dungeness Spit

Okay - Camera is officially broken. In this age of planned obsolescence, it probably doesn't pay to get it fixed. Sad though, isn't it.

Katie's been really funny these past few days. Her phrase of the week is "I'm doing ___ really fast." I'm walking, I'm running, I'm reading really fast!

When we went to walk Meadow today, she insisted on walking with me and taking her new stuffed Clifford in her doll stroller. Because I've been through this routine before where she takes the doll stroller and I end up carrying Katie, the doll stroller, and walking Meadow, I gave her fair warning. "Katie," I said, "if you take Clifford in the doll stroller, I am not going to carry you."

"Okay Mommy," Katie replied, "I'm not going to carry you!"

The Clifford, by the way, just happened to be at my parents' house and she seemed to really like it so he joined us back in the city. It's very much like my mother to have bought a children's stuffed animal and just have it lying around.

I'm going to try to take some new pics soon with our borrowed camera.

This picture is from the Dungeness Spit. It's the piece of land that the famous crab is named after. It was a 1/2 a mile walk down to the beach and at this point we decided that it was not worth trying to take Katie in the backpack - she'd had it with the backpack. And again, we seemed to forget we traveling with a todller, it was our 3rd stop of the day. So we practically had to drag her down the very easy trail. At one point, I was trying to get her moving with a teddy graham every few feet. It didn't work and Peter told me that it sounded more like I was trying to walk Meadow than get Katie to walk cooperatively. When we finally made it down to the spit, it was so windy we spent about 5 minutes and turned around. It was a neat thing though, here's a picture.
