Katie's new table and chairs
Katie's Dima and Dipa came for dinner last night. Despite their local proximity, dinner at our home doesn't happen too often. "Dima and Dipa brought me chairs and a table!" Katie said today very excited. When Katie stayed with them in April, I brought this play set down from the attic. Yes it was mine, but it was my sisters' before. I thought it would be good for Katie to have a play space at my parents' house, but after looking for tables and chairs online, I didn't see any I liked better so my mom and I decided that it would be best used in our apartment. And this set, circa 1969, is made of real wood. It has a few scratches and signs of love, but it's perfect for what we need and Katie's very happy. It even matches her doll cradle (also mine) that she loves.
Dipa read Katie one of her favorite stories. It's called Knuffle Bunny - and Nana's friend Julie Crandall brought her a copy when she visited in Dallas. There's a part of the story when the toddler, who can't talk yet, gets so frustrated that she can't get her point across, so she yells "Aggle Flabble Klabble." When we were on the plane to Seattle, Katie was getting so frustrated just sitting in her seat, so she says "Aggle Flabble Klabble" and then fell asleep. It was pretty funny.
