Katie's first day of school

Katie took right to school. She has been looking forward to it for so long and once she got there she got right into playing and didn't even say goodbye to us. Peter starts work next week so he has got to enjoy meeting Katie's teachers and seeing her classroom and watching her go to her first day. Tuesday morning she kept saying she wanted me to drive her to school, not Daddy. We figure that this is just a suburban version of "I want Mommy to push the stroller."

Katie colored, cut with these great toddler scissors and played with colored tape on Friday when we visited her classroom and that's exactly what she went right for when she got into the room.
And here she is playing when I went to pick her up at the end of the day. Her teacher Jennifer is behind her. The only thing she would tell us about the day is that she wouldn't pet Petunia and she sat next to Julia. Petunia is the class guinea pig. Yes, my daughter who has a 65 pound golden retriever wouldn't touch the 2 pound class rodent.
