not an easy week

Nana is a big fan of robes and Katie is a big fan of cozy things so Nana bought Katie a cozy big robe. We didn't know just how big it would be until it got here, already personalized. Katie loves it and wore it to swim class last week.

It's been a tougher week for Katie. Our neighbors had a big fire in their house and she's had bad dreams since then. She told me, "Mommy, my dreams are scaring me." It was scary for the grown ups to see the smoke and flames so I can only imagine how Katie must see it. The house is directly behind us (next to us really because we live on a corner) and there's a 4-year-old girl who lives in the house whom Katie likes. The family is fine, but they won't be living in the house anytime soon. At her teacher's suggestion, we're going to go visit a fire station and talk to the fire fighters about keeping our house safe.

And then she had another tummy bug on Friday. It makes me not like preschool because she seems to get sick frequently since she's started. But the positive spin is that at least both of her really messy tummy bugs waited until had our own washer and dryer.
