Aunt Izabef

Aunt Elizabeth is in from Paris so we spent the day with her in NJ. Here they are blowing bubbles on Karen and Paul's front steps. Karen thought it was so great to have a little girl on the steps again. Our plan was to go to the local park and zoo, the place where Elizabeth and I went when we were Katie's age - and years after - but it rained. We had a nice lunch with Karen and then EB, Katie, and I went to see Oma. I love that I can take my friends to see my grandmother and Oma was thrilled to see Elizabeth, it had been a while.

Katie was really a joy today. Very chatty and happy. She loved "Aunt Izabef" and I think the feeling was mutual. I loved being able to share my wonderful child with my oldest friend. What a great combination.

Earlier in the morning we dropped Meadow off at the dog sitter. Katie, the girl who tells Meadow "No" if Meadow is even in sight of Katie's food, she cried hysterically when Meadow went to the dog sitter. I mean hysterically. Gasping sobs and everything. She was so upset that Meadow left her. It makes me think that they have their own relationship, one that goes beyond me and Peter. I love that idea, that at almost 2, Katie loves her doggie and as Oma commented that Meadow is probably Katie's best friend. When we leave the house generally, Katie says "Bye Meadow" and either "Later" or "Love you."

Of course, truth be known, tonight Katie ate still her dinner at the table and said "No Meadow, Katie's food." And yes, Meadow wasn't even home. Posted by Picasa
