Multi-purpose boxes

One of the necessities of NYC living is delivery. Part of it is out of necessity - you can only carry so much at one time since we don't use cars like the rest of the country. New Yorkers get everything delivered. While the 'burbs may only get pizza and Chinese food delivered, absolutely every type of food and almost every restaurant delivers in Manhattan - NYC is famous for this! We're not that into ordering in dinner, but we do have groceries delivered. While we go to the local greenmarkets, greengrocers, and specialty grocers almost daily, some staples do come courtesy of FreshDirect. FreshDirect delivers in cardboard boxes and Katie found a new use for them on Tuesday. She loved climbing in them!

Then Ania came and said that one thing she loves doing with kids is drawing on the FreshDirect boxes. So she and Katie spent time happily drawing on the soon-to-be recycled boxes. Very cute.

Katie does some funny things now. I had a conference yesterday so Peter spent the day alone with Katie. Unfortunately he was sick and everytime he coughed, so did Katie. Everytime he blew his nose, so did Katie. I called her from the conference I heard her little voice say "Mommy at work."

Katie loves doing puzzles now and still loves reading books. She used to love listening to CDs before she broke the cd player. But it's a good thing about this age, she's so honest. Katie looks at the cd player and says "Katie break it." Her obssession with face cream has lessened a bit (probably because I try to avoid it since I know it will start a battle since she doesn't want to surrender it), but she is still enthralled with her stacking cups.
