Rice Beach

Looking at preschools I've seen all these sandtables and I've been thinking for a while that I'd love to get Katie a sand table. But a sand table in an apartment is just not happening. So I read about some other suggestions, went to Target and a big NJ supermarket (you can't get huge bags of rice in the city) and picked up 2 containers and rice and beans. I put sand toys in each and Katie called them "Rice Beach" and "Bean Beach." It was adorable when she pulled up her little chairs as "beach chairs" and took out her beach ball. Today was our first bit of snow and real cold and we stayed inside all day. Katie came out of her room with her bathing suit on - backwards. She decided that if she was going to Rice Beach she would put on her bathing suit.
