Swimming in our "cool"
Katie's vocabulary is great so why she keeps calling a pool, a cool, I don't know. It's just one of those cute mispronounciations we're not correcting. It was a pretty lazy Sunday in our house and we went swimming in the morning. She had her little swim vest on and holding onto a noodle too, she did great floating in the water. Katie seems to love to go swimming.
There was supposed to be a big (that is for NYC standards) snowstorms Sunday night so I brought the car out to NJ so I don't have to deal with it in the snow (can't even begin to tell you what a nightmare it is to have to dig your car out of the snow after it's been plowed in). Anyway, we had a special treat and had dinner with Dima and Dipa and Aunt Debbie and Robin and Pete and Mitch. Katie was thrilled to sit next to Robin at dinner and not Mommy. Katie, being the great eater she is, ate more and is more adventurously than her older cousin. The girls kept themselves busy drawing. Katie was really proud of a drawing she did for Robin, handed it to her, and Robin said, "I don't like scribble scrabble." Being the advanced age of 4, Robin can draw flowers and rainbows and all sorts of things compared to Katie's abstract art. Luckily Katie didn't feel bad about this.
Oh - and I woke up this morning and Peter said to me, "where's the snow?" Of course I was prepared and there's no snow. Embarrassing, but I suddenly feel liberated by not having to obey the tyrrany of alternate-side.
