Kate Skates!
We decided to take Katie ice skating today. She loved it. While she was not a complete natural, she did well for her first time on ice. And as she explained to me, "I'll practice and I'll be better next time." Katie said the ice was "slippery" and wanted to know why the rink only had blue skates. Not being a skater at all, Peter did all the skating with Katie and even got a few laps in by himself.
It felt like a great NYC day. There are actually 2 rinks in Central Park and when we went to the one closest to us, we found out they had hockey games for a good portion of the day and after watching the zamboni (which Katie loved, especially the name), we took the bus to the other rink. Because we weren't planning on this detour, we didn't take the stroller and I'm happy to report that Katie did really well walking. The best part of the Wollman rink is the view. Here are Katie and Daddy skating in front of the Plaza (sb trivia - the site of my HM senior prom).

And of course Katie fell too, but not very much. She was almost too cautious and spent time hanging onto the side. "That's okay," as Katie says.
And she was so tired tonight after so much walking and skating, she fell asleep on the couch while she was playing the nap game.
