One of Katie's teachers sent us this from her iphone. Here's Katie using the really neat spring-action scissors and colored taple. The e-mail said "Katie is having a great time using her fine motor skills to cut tape for her artistic creations. She has many new works of art to bring home today."

I loved this little glimpse into Katie's school life. It's the first time she has a long-term peer group that I haven't created for her. So far she's only friends with Julia. I'm not complaining because Julia is a really nice child. But neither Julia nor Katie seem to want to be friends with any of the boys. Thursday night she said to me "there are a lot of boys in my class. I'm only friends with Julia." So she definitely recognizes the gender imbalance in her class.
