Lucky!

When Katie had strep a few weeks ago, she watched tv all day. Somehow there seem to be more commercials on kids' tv stations for kid-things during the day than during the early evening when she might watch tv. One of things advertised was "Lucky, the Incredible Wonder Pup." When I asked her what she wanted for Chanukah, all she wanted was Lucky. Though not impressed that Katie could not resist the draw of commercialism, I figured asking for one thing wasn't too bad. So she got Lucky for the first night of Chanukah (the rest of the nights were books, something I would generally buy her anyway). Lucky is pretty neat and Katie loved saying "he's incredible" just like the commercial. He talks, sings in a doggy voice, and does some tricks (more than her real dog). We don't love that he passes gas, something you can do without from a toy dog.

The night we were leaving for the airport, we hear Lucky "go off" in the middle of the night. We figured she must be playing with him and got annoyed. But she was only cuddling him and he started responding.
