Katie and Ania
Have I mentioned lately how much we love Ania? Okay, she'll blush when she reads this, but we love Ania. She's fun and thoughtful and just an all around great person. And to Katie, there's no one like Ania. She gets so excited to see her and so happy, it's really very special. Peter and I went to his firm's holiday party on Saturday night and I didn't even think about Katie once, I knew she was in the best hands. We got home to hear all about their adventures: a "picnic" in "Central Park" (i.e. the floor) and reading Make Way for Ducklings. This evening when I gave Katie a bath, I saw that Ania had lined up all the little suction cup ducks in the bathtub like Jack, Kack, Lack, etc. And as a bonus to us, Ania keeps us in check as to the condition of our home - something we appreciate greatly.
One of the things that I love about Ania is that we can talk together about raising Katie. Her patience is unbelievable and I look to her for inspiration about how to handle some of Katie's more, shall I say, stubborn behaviors. Ania thinks that we sometimes need to be tricky to get Katie to do what we ask. For example, she suggests that to get her to clean up her toys off the floor we should suggest to her that either Meadow wants to "play" with them or that the vacuum will take them. So far so good.
