Tutu Puppies
Sometimes I think that when I blog about events and things we do, I miss a lot of the everyday Katie-ness. Katie's favorite expressions of late include "we'll bring __, just in case" and "you can do __, if you want." These seem to show Katie's persuading nature. She's never really been one to say "no" emphatically, but she doesn't hesitate to try to get you on her side. Oh Mommy, you said I couldn't have chapstick. "Let's bring chapstick, just in case."
Her newest form of pretend play is dancing in a show for everyone. On Thursday, Katie and Ania lined up all her puppies (above), gave me a ticket, and invited me to a show. She danced to music, taking breaks to drink some milk "so I can be strong." Meadow also joined the audience. Peter thought the puppies should have been turned around (i.e. nursing puppies). Because she's so into dancing, I've signed her up for a ballet class. I was ambivalent about it, though Katie wanted to and I followed through after we had a playdate with kids whose mom is a dancer and she looked at Katie's feet and said "oh, you have nice arches, you should take ballet." Stay tuned for the report later this week.
From left to right, Brother, Sister, and little boy puppy. The rest don't have names and in honor of the dance recital, their collars turned into tutus!
